This last weekend, Alan Murray and I travelled to Sporleder Ranch in the Spanish Peak area of Colorado. This is a long way from civilization, just where some busy, harangued, stressed man or woman or family from a big city might want to spend a week to relax and get away from it all. That's what our good friend Alan Anderson is planning on. He has inherited the ranch along with several cousins and is building an Old West style lodge and dude ranch where he plans to retire. He has spent his last two summers there building the lodge. In addition to beautiful scenery to enjoy, he has plans to keep his guests active with horseback riding, ATV riding, hiking, mountain biking, cowboy action shooting ranges, great food, and short trips to local sights. It looks like it should be a great place for a family reunion. Here are some pictures of our trip and the building progress. (One of you blog builders needs to show me how to get my pictures place attractively on the page.)
